Description
Casino da Madeira –in Funchal is one of the island’s main leisure and entertainment centres with more than 200 slot machines, located in Funchal, capital of the Madeira Islands of Portugal.

Objective:

• Display the jackpot data, which is retrieved from various jackpot controllers.
  The real time data is to be fed into a new system and converted into a graphical, fully configurable jackpot meter.
• The amount of the jackpot is to be shown on a meter as a monetary value.
•  Along with commercial messages and movie clips, the jackpot meter is displayed on several LCD screens inside the casino in a unique graphical design with special effects, attracting more players.

Challenges:

• Createhighest quality playback of the jackpot, including perfectly smooth movement of the meters, playing according to the slot machines’ output. 
• Create a special testing environment, simulating the exact mechanism of the slot machines in the casino, to avoid problems during the installation and for easy and fast implementation.

Solution:

• Five screens located at the casino and five screens in the lobbies of the surrounding hotels.
• All screens display the jackpot meter, with special graphical effects.
  The control station – C-nario Messenger located in the server room, controlling all of the entire players in the “field.”
• C-nario RD-ware was selected as the hardware solution for the players.

Results
The C-nario software’s flexibility enabled smooth integration with various applications, such as the XML transmitter in this case. The XML transmitter is a tool that is connected to the machines and receives all encoded XML, decodes them and transmits to the players over the broadcast address of the machines, by using a C-nario custom item (an interface specially designed to meet the customer’s needs, and mostly used in C-nario Messenger to read an external data source). Implementation time was two days only with no interferance with regular casino activity.
