Objective
Beit She'an’s archeological excavations began twenty years ago, revealing dozens of layers of settlements dating back to 5000 BC, as well as the remains of the Roman-Byzantine town Scythopolis. Visitors were fascinated by a multi-sensory experience as they strolled through the streets of Scythopolis with its marble columns, stone streets, bathhouses, temples and mosaics, while watching audiovisual presentations projected onto the remains, columns, walls, and even behind the site.

Visitors may select their own route around the site and linger as long as they like at any one point, "meeting" local characters, "experiencing" the earthquake that destroyed the city
in 749 CE, and "watching" a performance in the Roman amphitheater
